This will simply make the WNBA treat her worse

and by paddling you meaning getting concussed, beat up, slapped, scratched, tackled, and disrespected by some of the toughest, strongest, largest women around.

Her 17/19 shooting on free throws during the game was not mentioned in the article. They must have been fouling the shit out of her.

Tbf, she's mostly in the news due to being assaulted, fouled, and injured. So, that does, technically, make her the face of the league.

She’s the only reason I started watching sometimes. I grew up in Indiana so any good Indiana basketball is fine with me.

You and millions of other people. The fact of the matter is that her Fame from college has translated to the wnba, and earned the league and its players collectively tens of millions of dollars that they wouldn't have earned otherwise.
The fact that both the league and her opponents are willing to torch all of that because of some personal grudges and perceived slights and weaknesses says a lot, and none of it good.
25
u/Wide_Course_5807 5h ago
It's because they are subsidized by the NBA. They do not need to turn a profit when they have deep pocket owners funding their league. They want you to believe they were relevant before her...which they were not (at least their salaries)

u/AnduwinHS 4h ago
"Personal grudges and perceived slights and weaknesses" = Racism. Her fellow players hate her because she is the first star in a predominantly black sport, as a white woman

It’s not personal grudges and perceived slights and weaknesses. It’s just straight up racism at the end of the day.

Yeah but one time Angel Reese collected twenty-two rebound in a single game.

Out of pure curiosity, how many of those rebounds came on her own missed shots?

She was defending Caitlin Clark which is like hilarious in such a sad way that the player who should be the face of the league gets treated so poorly that her teammate who trys to protect her is getting popular for exactly that.

40 point game surely her fellow WNBA will be happy for her and not be jealous and try to rough her up.

What's more impressive is she's also the first WNBA player to drop 40 points and 10 assists in an MMA match.
Wtf is going on in these games lately

It's insane... I've never seen "fans" act like it before. They're all hurting the sport

really? seems like to me people actually want to watch the games and the sport of basketball, not a bunch of psychopaths commit violence. seems like the people on the court cant control their emotions and play better, so they just go full animal and commit violence.

Some WNBA enforcers are going to do a legit WWE style tag team finisher to foul her now. Thinking the old Road Warriors Doomsday Device. Can’t have her bringing too much attention to the league 😂.

they already have been, it's essentially cage matches for her on the court
she's got some indomitable spirit thats for sure, love of the game isnt enough to get put up with this shti and still ve the fucking best player in the league.

It took more than one player to rescue the NBA. Until the WNBA realizes that there are a handful of players including CC to build the league around, this is going to be a shit show amongst players and fans.

u/Shot-Possibility-399 5h ago

im assuming you think the assholes trying to gouge her eyes out every match are the ones to also be worthy to promote the league?

And of course people are yet again turning it into CC vs the WNBA. Fucking hell, these people don't actually care about the game or her. They only care for the drama and to shit on the league as usual....

Just when people were starting to turn on CC she delivers a performance like that.

Funny, Reddit has been talking about how shitty her game is for the past few days.
2
u/JacobDCRoss 7h ago
She is objectively the best at what she does, but enough people are bigoted against her, and enough people who root for her are bigoted, that no discussion is untainted.
Long and short of the story: Fans need to leave the other players alone. No more threats, items thrown on the court, or other harassment. And the other players need to be called when they hit Clark. Simple as.
