My mom used to watch Oprah. I can hear her voice
“today’s a special day because not only did Dianna win bees! If everyone would look under the seats, you’ll notice everyone gets a bag of bees!!” container door drops releasing millions of bees into the audience.→ More replies (5)4

They didn’t try to give her more than six months because that would have required a jury trial and they knew damn well they were not going to get a conviction under those circumstances.
36
u/Graybeard_Shaving 5h ago edited 4h ago
Oh, it went to trial.
Jury acquitted on all felonies, and there were several charged, but convicted on a bunch of misdemeanors. Sentence was light because the judge took it easy and Massachusetts is generally one of the more lenient states when it comes to incarceration.
DA threw everything they could at her so the DA definitely wanted her bad.
There was a non trivial chance that this could have had an absolutely life altering outcome for her.

u/DoingBestWeCan 4h ago
I'm sure the cops wanted her nuked. Maybe don't try to evict grandmas in the middle of cancer treatment, eh guys?
Seriously, of I was a juror here, I'd be like, "I will accept the state fining her $75 for unauthorized use of bees. Innocent of everything else."
6
u/NSFWies 3h ago
As a juruurururururhrprororeoro , you only get to decide guilty or not for each charge. Judge dred decides how intense the sentence is.

The Beekeeper 2 with Jason Statham
7
u/RT-6_BXCommandoDroid 6h ago
Now that is definitely worth it to bail her out of this.
6
u/Aurora_Uplinks 5h ago
lol could you imagine a go fund me to bail her out, help her friend out, and get her 10 times as many bees. just to strike fear into the area.
4
u/spidermans_mom 4h ago
I think we need to start a go fund me for Jason Statham to take the money and bail her out.
4
u/Eggmasstree 2h ago
When I'm bored I ask an AI to generate me random scenario of Jason Statam with a random profession. And come up with cheesy oneliners.

Or what? You'll release the dogs or the bees? Or the dogs that have bees in their mouths so that when they bark they shoot bees at you?!

Sad that and 80 year old undergoing cancer treatment still has to worry about eviction at that age. We live in a time where you either get treatment for your illness or pay your bills and save the treatment for death.

I'm with the Lord of the bees here. If someone is going through devastating medical treatments the law should prevent a landlord from making you homeless during that time. It's crazy to think some piece of shit would even do that but some people are evil and should be bound by law to behave better.

Do you ever try to evict an 80 year old man while he’s undergoing cancer treatment and stop to think “Maybe I’m a bad guy”

They're evicting an 80 year old cancer patient and they arrested the beekeeper? Maybe they should arrest the heartless bastards throwing the cancer victim on the street.

I mean i get it. While the deputies were legit just doing their jobs , there’s a crap backstory but at least she was creative, and less than lethal

How does a lady letting her bees out to get some exercise land her in jail? Did she direct the bees to attack the officers?
3
u/ragequitteroffureh 5h ago
Hm. You know when bees find a good patch of flowers, and they do a dance that encodes flight routes and coordinates in order to inform their little bee colleagues...
Well, it makes me think that this beekeeper lady may actually know the correct breakdancing moves to instruct the bees to lay siege to certain individuals.
However, unless that can locate another bee whisperer, I really don't see how it's possible to prove that beyond the shadow of a doubt. Because to the layman, it may simply have looked like she was doing The Robot.

As a 1 apartment landlord not really making any money off the rental I had this happen. Tenant got sick, couldnt pay and died. It sucks all around. I chose to lose several months rent instead of evict. Thats just my character but what if the landlord could not afford the loss? Or the loss has been over a year? I also discovered that the tenant had several relatives with decent money who couldve helped but chose not to. Why does the burden of this persons illness have to fall upon the landlord?
