Will definitely need to get used to it lol. Touching scalp feels weird as hell. Had been thinking about doing this for a solid decade but my wife prefers hair so I did all the fin min and microneedling for years. It worked and I had nice hair at my wedding but I got really tired of it.

Insurance stopped covering fin last year so I said fuck it why am I taking medication for this when I don't care that much. Hairline of course started fleeing again. So it got the axe.

Edit: sorry for no before Pic I don't really post on reddit or take many photos. I only thought of it after I had already buzzed it to a 0. Asked for opinions earlier today and multiple people said to shave it fully so I tried it. I don't have any pictures emphasizing the hairline or thinning areas. Wasn't really something I felt like documenting intentionally. But it seems like people think this looks OK and I never have to stress about hair or spend time combing and spraying it anymore so it's a win in my book

Bald Picture This was very difficult for me. Losing the battle but not the war for my self image

I'm still on the fence of liking it or not. I may go for hair transplant surgery, but no matter what I do, I'm done with feeling like I no longer have control.

Edit: This blew up far more than expected. Thank you all for the overwhelmingly positive feedback. Self-image is a crazy thing. I'm still struggling to recognize the man in the mirror, but this helps.

Yes/No? Does it work?

A few months ago, I posted my pics here, and had a lot of encouragement, including a few Breaking Bad comments. So I'm thinking about it and I had Grok add a Pork Pie Hat to my pic. You think it works? I'd hate to spend money on a hat and have it look wonky on my head.

I should point out, I'm not really a "hat guy" but I wear a baseball cap to keep from burning my melon. I thought maybe I should try this out.

I need your honest thoughts

Half my family says I'm crazy to shave it, the other half says I'll look fine. I've seen several posts where you guys generally recommend not shaving, so I trust your judgement here. Thanks in advance 🙏

After three years of maintaining an illusion, I finally gave up

Started balding at 21, then grew out my hair to cover. It was invisible if I just placed the hair correctly. It was tiring to maintain that much so I cut it. My hairline did not exist by that point so I let the front overhang to create the illusion. I was impressed by my own barber skills tbh.

It was good for two years but I had to wear a durag anytime it rained or was windy. I also had to redo the hairline and cover the top with hair fibers every morning. I saw this sub and all the posts finally gave me the courage to just let it go at the ripe age of 24😭😭

Edit: in the last picture, I just finished cutting everything off.

Wow, 5 years can really change things! I loved my short curly hair too, but now I'm totally rocking this bald look! All the positive comments on other posts here have been super encouraging.

Balding since I was 20. First few were me trying to hide it or not acknowledge it. Grew my back hair out to hide with a beanie. No more

Including a few photos. One of a great hair day and another of an average one to see the range of looks it has. Curious to hear others thoughts. I know I’m in the could go either way zone.

Finally, I decided to take the leap this afternoon. Buzz cuts just were not doing it for me. Made an appointment for something that I just learned is called BHS (Bald Head Service). Well, I feel cooler in the Houston heat. But do I look any cooler? Lemme know - I can take it.

My friend’s kid said “you’re bald!”
I said “no, I am balding”
That conversation resonated deeply with me.
Made the plunge and I am so much happier.
Remington RX7 ftw.

I come humbly before the council to present myself to hopefully be accepted by the bald community. HLH, dialysis, and chemo have done a number on my head.

Also, open to advice on how to take care of a bald head. Washing, oiling, etc. Ty!

Edit: I can't even put into words how all of you have made me feel. I wasn't ready for the overwhelming love and kindness. This community is sublime.I love you all. Thank you everyone
